Jamesia came to Boys Hope Girls Hope of St. Louis at the age of 13 through our Academy partner, McCluer South-Berkeley High School. Her hard work and determination combined with the resources provided through the Academy program paid off. In 2018, she graduated from high school and began pursuing her post-secondary dream of nursing school. Through a connection with a former board member, she immediately began working with the admissions team at partner college, Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College, while taking classes at St. Louis Community College to ensure her coursework would meet their requirements.
Despite continual setbacks and challenges from COVID-19, working part-time, and helping take care of an ailing grandparent, Jamesia was accepted to Goldfarb and enrolled in the fall of 2021!
